Union Digital Centre

On 11 November 2010, Union Digital Centres (UDC) was established in all Unions of Bangladesh (4501 in total) to take the Information Technology to all the citizens including the villagers. These centres are currently the IT hub for agriculture, education, healthcare, and various government and non-government commercial service delivery.

 

The achievement of UDC are:

  • 4,516 Union Digital Centres (UDC) in 4,545 Unions
  • Total 9,032 entrepreneurs including 4,516 female entrepreneurs
  • Providing 40,000,000 services
  • 32,000,000 birth registrations
  • Registration of 1,435,436 workers interested to work in Malaysia
  • BDT 1,280,000,000 of revenue
  • Mobile banking in 2,565 centres and BDT 96,600,000 transacted
  • Insurance benefit in 2,064 centres through Jiban Bima Corporation
  • 446 villagers have provided BDT 3,675,000 of insurance premium  so far
  • 30,000 students and youths have had computer training
  • 30,000 people have taken tele-medicine services so far
  • 700,000 people have taken healthcare services through health camps.
